Screenshot Finish

Your screenshots stay on your device.

Screenshot Finish captures and edits screenshots locally. It has no account, screenshot upload service, analytics or advertising.

What it handles

When you ask for a capture, the extension reads the chosen page’s pixels and title. Area capture measures visible element boxes to provide alignment guides. Full-page capture temporarily scrolls the main document and restores its position and changed styles. Page titles name source images; page URLs and browsing history are not saved.

Images you import or paste, annotations, canvas text and backgrounds are processed in this browser. Choosing a window or screen uses Chrome’s source picker to take one still image, with no audio. Screen sharing stops as soon as that image is captured, or if the operation fails.

Storage and deletion

Temporary captures, their titles, timestamps and source tab/window identifiers are held in this extension’s local database. Explicitly closing a capture deletes its buffer. New captures prune buffers older than 24 hours and keep at most 12. This cleanup runs when another capture is made; it is not an exact 24-hour timer. You can clear temporary captures in Settings.

Saved looks, presets and capture preferences remain on this device until reset or removal of the extension. They contain styling choices, not screenshot pixels, imported images or uploaded backgrounds. Images and annotations in an open studio remain in memory until it closes. PNG files you download and images you copy are controlled by your device and destination applications.

Permissions

Sharing and network access

Screenshot Finish does not send screenshot content, page content, titles or preferences to a server. There are no remote fonts, remote scripts, cloud accounts or AI services. Copying and downloading happen only through the screenshot features you choose. Chrome or your operating system may sync clipboard contents according to your own device settings.

Screenshot Finish’s use of information received from Google APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the screenshot functions described here, never sold or used for advertising, credit decisions or unrelated purposes.

Upgrading from an older build

Screenshot styling and preferences retain their existing local identifiers. This screenshot-only build does not load the previous recorder or open old recordings. Existing recording databases are left untouched. Removing the extension clears its browser-managed local storage; keep files you need before removing it.
